Terry Perk

Terry Perk is a visual artist whose practice examines our relationship to landscapes and place through investigations of historic technologies. Site-responsive, his projects often explore esoteric systems and spatial logics that influence the experience of specific locations. His recent sculptural works focus on the land and seascapes of the South-East of England, where he lives.

Born in Kent in the UK, Perk studied Sculpture at Bretton Hall College, Leeds, and Bennington College, Vermont, USA, before gaining a PhD in the History and Theory of Art from the University of Kent. He has taught extensively in tertiary and Higher Education throughout his career. Previously Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University for the Creative Arts, where he was Professor of Fine Art Education, he is now a visiting professor at Xiamen University, China, and works as a higher education consultant.
